Ronit, I'm so glad you are sharing these deepest layers of the human psyche. My own life has been transformed by your work over the years in community, and by having the "map of being" you have shared.
My own core pain point is "If I'm not the smartest guy in the room, then I am worthless." Having identified this years ago (with your help), I have been able to get some witness-distance from it and work with it. Unexpectedly last year in preparing for my Bar Mitzvah, I had a huge release from this core pain, which feels like such a miracle. It's not gone from my nervous system, I'm still in the process of rewiring. But it's no longer the in the driver seat 99% of the time, running my thoughts and feelings in the way it used to (without my awareness or consent :-)
I'm looking forward to the next two Letters, and sending you all of my love and gratitude.
Rafe, I have been witnessing your evolution with joy and gratitude. When we stop operating from our pain points, we begin to operate from our gifts and our light. That transformation not only benefits you and your loved ones, but every person you come in contact with. This is what this work is all about -- we all benefit from the healing of each one of us. Love you Rafe.
Love your posts and glad that I can read the article rather than listen to a bot read them as a podcast:)) i especially like your address.Dear future human... Hoping you see the future of humanity outside of transhumanism. I'm curious to know what your approach to AI is... A tool or a technique?
Dear Diane, I appreciate your acknowledgment. I am right there with you re: transhumanism.
AI can be a great tool, or a horrific weapon, much like many of our other inventions, e.g. money, social media, etc. I will share more about my thought on it shortly.
Thank you for your support. Embracing you with love.
And as a follow-up — reading this letter again, I'm struck by how much it describes what's happening at the economic level too.
The "in order to" economy — trading your aliveness for a salary, a title, an identity — that's the Fraudulent Self wearing a suit. And my own pain point ("if I'm not the smartest guy in the room, I'm worthless") might actually be the operating system the entire professional class is running on. We built a whole economy around that wound.
I just published a piece exploring what happens when AI displacement strips that away for millions of people at once. Your work is the foundation underneath everything I wrote, whether I named it or not.
Looking forward to reading your article. BTW, the Fractal Self Letter talks about the fractal aspect of our inner work. I also wrote another letter about it, which I will include in the book.
